ICN Update - Reduced Tariff Prices |
||||
| July 12, 2001
Greetings from the Illinois Century Network, I wanted to bring you up to date briefly on a recent development that spells GOOD NEWS for those of you in Ameritech territories. Attached please find the formal details of a new Individual Case Basis Tariff that will extend discounted pricing to all voice, video, and data T-1 circuits (regardless of the end points) as well as an advance copy of a draft press release that will go out in the next week or so.
This special education tariff will reduce T-1 circuit prices specifically for K-12 schools, public and private colleges and universities, libraries, and museums. In the past these discounts were only available when one end of the circuit terminated in an ICN point of presence. The current pricing extends to ALL T-1 circuits used to connect to the ICN or between constituent facilities regardless of whether the connection is used for voice, video, or data. Savings of 20-40% may be recognized depending on location.
For ICN constituents who are not in an Ameritech territory, staff has begun gathering information for a statewide analysis in an effort to secure more competitive pricing. I will keep you updated as these events unfold and we progress. Let me encourage you to occasionally visit the ICN web site at www.illinois.net for additional details and breaking news.
Best regards,
H. Neil Matkin |
