Content Filtering Update
The ICN recently upgraded the software on its N2H2 content filtering servers. The new software has many fixes and enhancements over the previous version. Some enhancements, such as improved support for clustering and greater stability, may not be immediately apparent to ICN filtering customers. These improvements will, however, result in an improved experience overall. Moreover, the new software also includes some enhancements that will provide filtering administrators with increased options and greater flexibility. Constituent administrators of ICN centralized filtering now have more block categories, the ability to create custom redirect pages, and the option of providing pop-up warnings, but not blocking specific categories of web sites.
ICN staff also had the opportunity to meet face to face with technicians and developers from N2H2 (now Secure Computing). Technical staff were given the opportunity to see the planned roadmap for future software development and to provide input on features and enhancements that would be the most beneficial for constituents.
The ICN is committed to providing constituents with the best service possible and will continue to seek ways to improve service offerings.
