Verizon Clear Channel Price Reductions

ICN constituents in Verizon service areas subscribing to clear channel T1 service have seen a reduction in their bills as a result of the elimination of clear channel charges. While researching telecommunications pricing in Illinois, ICN staff discovered that clear channel charges were still applied even though clear channel service is considered the default for T1 circuits today. ICN staff met with Version representatives and received a commitment to eliminate the charges.

As announced previously, a tariff filing effective December 24, 2004 eliminated the clear channel monthly recurring charge of $24.00 applied per "DS1 Link". One or two billing cycles may be required for the change to appear on invoices. However, credit for the charge will be prorated to the December 24, 2004 date. The sample below illustrates how the charge appeared on the service and equipment portion of the bill.
