Costs and Bandwidth Allocations
to Remain Level
At the November 19, 2003 ICN Policy Committee meeting, staff recommended
that baseline bandwidth allocations and costs for additional bandwidth
remain at current levels for Fiscal Year 2005 (July 1, 2004 - June 30,
2005).
ICN Partners to Improve School
to Home Communication
In his February State-of-the-State address, Governor Rod Blagojevich announced
a proclamation calling on all Illinois schools to adopt the national Parent
Teacher Association's (PTA) standards for parental involvement in an effort
to ensure that communication between home and school is frequent and meaningful.
ICN to Focus on Services
Now that the great majority of ICN primary constituents (education, library,
and museums) are connected to the network, the ICN is turning its focus
towards services that meet the needs of constituents and take full advantage
of the ICN's Illinois educational Intranet.

Virginia Bound!
This past November, Neil Matkin, Director, resigned in order to accept
a new position as Vice Chancellor of Information Services for the Virginia
Community College System.

New Chair and Members for
AET
The ICN Policy Committee has appointed Gary Wenger, Vice President for
Information Technology, College of DuPage as Chair of the Advanced Engineering
Task (AET).
Clear Channel Charges
- Gone!
ICN constituents served by SBC, Citizens and Verizon should soon see a
reduction in their bills as a result of the elimination of clear channel
charges.
Did you know?
All ICN connected constituents are eligible to order Cisco hardware using
the ICN master contract with SBC.
