ILCS 3921 was signed in May of 1999 creating the Illinois Century Network.
The legislation was amended in July 2002. This legislation establishes a
Policy Committee be formed to set general policies for the network. This
committee is made up of representatives from the Board of Higher Education,
Illinois Community College Board, State Board of Education, State Library,
State Museum, Department of Central Management Services, and up to seven
members appointed by the Governor from other constituent groups. These constituent
groups are to include a representative from private higher education and
private K-12 schools. A chair is appointed by the Governor for a two year
term.
The ICN Policy Committee meets four times a year in various locations to discuss issues relating to the Illinois Century Network.
