The Illinois Century Network offers network services in response to constituent requirements. The following services are available currently or are in development. Please contact your RTC for additional information or to sign up for any of the services listed below.

Content Filtering

A centralized content filtering service is available that meets the requirements for E-rate compliance.

IP Video

The ICN provides a low-cost IP Video (H.323) service including ISDN gateways and multi-point conferencing service.

The ICN offers antivirus pricing for Panda and Symantec software.

Connectivity Consultation

Conveniently located Regional Technology Centers (RTC) assist in the planning, installation, and upgrades needed for connection to the Illinois Century Network.

Domain Name System (DNS) Hosting

RTCs provide primary and/or secondary DNS hosting for additional domains at no extra cost to your organization.

Equipment/Service Discounts

All constituents are eligible for discounts on Cisco equipment and services through an ICN contract with SBC. Discounts are also available for all constituents on access circuits.

Internet/ Intranet Connectivity

The ICN provides robust Internet and Intranet connectivity to Illinois schools, institutions of higher education, libraries, museums, research institutions, State agencies, units of government and other local entities that provide services to Illinois citizens.

ICN primary constituents have access to the Internet2 Abilene Research Network. The goal of Internet2 is to bring member institutions together to collaborate on new technologies for advancing education-networking tools, applications, middleware and content.

IP Addressing

Regional Technology Center staff can assist your organization in obtaining IP addresses at the time of initial connection as well as procuring additional addresses as needed in the future.

Monitoring/Analysis

Using various monitoring and analysis tools, Regional Technology Centers can assist directly connected sites in tracking bandwidth utilization, circuit status, and other information that can be valuable as a troubleshooting tool or for developing technology plans.

Multicast

This service allows ICN constituents to receive IP multicast traffic in a size that fits within the constituents' available bandwidth allocation both within and outside the ICN.

Quality of Service (QoS)

IP Quality of Service (QoS) allows constituents to use the ICN for delay sensitive applications such as IP video services.

Support is available 24/7/365 for connections. The Support section on this site gives additional information and contact numbers if technical difficulties arise.
